Wim Postma
A (dual-educated) Master Mariner and Marine Engineer – unlimited tonnage – with more than 40 years of seagoing experience, of which the latest 20 years in a role as Master and Chief Engineer – in command – on board P & O Neddloyd’ / Maersk Line’ largest container vessels. Most recently (and still active), Wim acts as deep-sea and coastal pilot on the North Sea and assists shipowners with newbuild trials, deliveries and maiden voyages.
Apart from his active role as master in command, Wim is a member the Dutch Disciplinary Board of Shipping (Tuchtcollege voor de Scheepvaart).
Wim is a leading expert on all matters concerning ship handling, navigation, collision investigation, routing, meteorology, seamanship and ship-safety with a specific focus to (very large) container ships. Being a fully certified and experienced marine engineer as well, Wim may also assist in ship technical matters, engine room management, engine failures etc.
